HORIZON LITERARY MAGAZINE'S ISSUE COLLECTION
On a sunny fall afternoon in 2019, Horizon founder Signe Hope Nettum had an idea. Today, that idea has resulted in a total of six issues of a literary magazines--so far--created by a dedicated team of like-minded students at the University of Iowa.

Signe envisioned a new literary magazine at Iowa, a space to enjoy inspiring stories of hope and optimism in light of the approaching 2020 pandemic. This magazine would encourage authors to expand their own horizons, publishing works of all genres that express both the positive and negative experiences we have while on the journey to happiness.
And Signe followed through, despite being surrounded by hardships and chaos, to invent this safe haven in the form of an annual literary magazine at arguably the biggest literary university in the Midwest.
Horizon has published a total of six literary magazines, each released in the spring semester of each academic year dating back to 2020. The most recent edition of Horizon contains two volumes.
None of this would be possible without Signe, our friends at the Magid Center for Writing, Daniel Khalastchi, and all of the talented authors and creators who make this magazine possible. Thank you. And thank you, the reader, for making all of our hard work worth it! We hope you enjoy this magazine as much as we do.

All our best,
